That's what I call memories...

I get nostalgic when the year ends.It happens to many people, I think... Saying things like: "last year I was there" and "Remember the odd shoes she wore?" and laughing with things that happened, like, a zillion years ago. When this happens, I tend to look at my old pictures. They are a great help for memory, aren't they? You can remember the cardigan you wore 4years ago, the odd haircut, the funny times...
So here's the best of yesteryear; my way of saying goodbye to 2009...

Shoe mayhem

See, here's the thing: I've bought my very first polaroid camera (hooraaaaaaaaaaay) and took pictures but I'm ill and my scanner's dead.Yikes. So for now I'm playing (and producing Andy Warhol-esque pictures). Fun for me:p
I'll be back soon with more pictures

Vienna

Back from my trip to Vienna, I feel refreshed...and inspired. It definitely is a surprising city; you never know what great building or piece of street art is gonna appear in front of your eyes in a moment. Plus, I was wearing my favorite orange trench coat. I was hesitant to buy it 'cause I'm a non- colour freak, but it makes your day brighter- especially when it's a moody, rainy one. I'm leaving, so...

Just some images of architecture class while we were waiting for the lesson to end (it was an awful day, really)I love the individual way people dress in our uni. One of them is a teacher, just guess who. I'll be back in a week...

The little shoe tale

I don't know what your relationship with fairytales might be, but I personally love them.
And today I'm in the mood of telling you the little shoe tale.
The "little shoes" were black patent leather tango shoes. The other shoes used to call them little ironically, for they were bigger than any of them. So, every time they walked on the streets, they saw all those tiny shoes with delicate laces and their heart beat sadly. And one day, on their first week together, their owner did the most humiliating thing a shoe could bare : she wore them with slit tights. The Little shoes almost cried, walking on the cold streets of the city. No other shoe would like them, now that not only were they big, but they were accustomed to bad hosiery. And then they stepped onto a warm dark red carpet and got surrounded by music. They barely touched the steps they were climbing; their owner was in such a hurry. And then they entered a room full of elegant shoes. The Little shoes felt very shy and wondered if those unknown shoes would stand being near them, let alone talk to them. And then they came face to face with a pair of dark brown leather oxfort shoes. Those laces, oh those shiny laces made their heart skip a beat. To their surprise, the brown shoes adressed them.
"How do you do ladies? Would you like to dance with us?""We'd be delighted", said the little shoes without a second thought and they slided gracefully.
"How graceful you are my ladies", said the brown shoes. "And, oh, we recognise those thights. We have met them before". The little shoes were afraid that the brown ones would comment their owners bad taste, but they were wrong. "You seem new, so you probably don't know the story. So let us tell you. These tights were torn by our master a year ago. He was going to Argentina, to work, for a whole year. He told your owner that he would be back today and that if she still loved him by the time he was back, she should have a dance with him in this hotel, tonight, wearing the tights he had lovingly torn for her. So, ladies, let us be sourrounded by love, merge in love and fall in love ourselves". And the dance went on...

By me. I'm
dedicating this to all the hopeless romantic tango lovers out there.

Big Weekend in Athens Day 1 (Cosplay cafe)

And I say... I'm bored of seing myself on those pages, and so might you. So I'm thinking of doing things differently...starting today.

This is a very interesting weekend in Athens because so many things are happening (some I don't even know yet). It's fashion week, the Meet Market is on Saturday and many other events are happening. Like, for instance, the maid cafe I discovered today.

See, I was in Fnac looking for some new book when I heard some loud J-pop coming from the back of the shop. Since I'm crazy about Japan myself (I wanted to be a mangaka when I was 14 and I still draw manga today) I went there and saw...a maid cafe. You know, the girls with the ultimate french maid outfits, with all those ribbons and bows, and the cute socks... I love them. Plus, from what I've heard, there must be a cosplaying crew in Athens... Things have been going on in this town...

Cute maids with lace outfits and pretty socks
The "Masters" are being served
kimonos and cat ears

For those of you who like that kind of look, I'd suggest you to read Gothic & Lolita Bible or the manga Kaichou wa Maid-sama. I'll be back soon...

What about shoes??

"We all thank "Sex and the city", because it helped women aknowledge their obsession with shoes", a wise woman once said. Just be honest: don't you have a shoe fetish? Aren't your shoes your best pals?
I was actually a late (shoe) bloomer. Oh no, correction. I did have a boot addiction. I've been collecting them since I was 12 and have 11-12 pairs right now. Black, pink or white, leather or suede, stretch or fluffy, I loved them all. But I my interest for high heels came later. It was with my first pair of wedges. They were turquoise mules. I could barely walk in them and they made me huge (I'm pretty tall and they had 10cm heels), but I still went out with them on a few times. Then, wedges went out of fashion and my big love with CAMPER's started. I still buy a pair of campers from time to time. They're comfortable and cute, plus I've tried running with them on and it really works. But I still like other kinds of shoes, my favorite two being a pair of black repetto tango heels and some very sexy strappy Vivienne Westwood by Melissa. Those are some of my shoe experiences, but since this is a huge topic, there will be a sequel to this article :)

One day, I found this jacket in mum's closet. I learned then that she and my grandma wore it quite often in the 80's. Since I like wearing my granny's clothes and shoes (the pearls are her's too) I chose it for a relaxed evening in the most amazing bar on the seaside of Arkoudi (guess what, the name means bear in Greek :p). Who wouldn't love a cocktail near the sea?

Hats

collage-hats
Hats...I love hats!!!They are every seasons best final touch for a stunning look. Whether they're top hats, big straw hats or feathery ones they look amazing with the right outfit. I admit, I wear them just 'cause they're beautiful and not to protect my head from the rain, sun etc, but in the winter they keep my head warm and in the summer they keep it cool; one more reason to like them. This Winter, I'm planning on wearing mom's black velvet witch hat. Can't wait for people's reaction out there :p
