Street shots

I've never been a studio girl myself. Ok, lack of knowledge is more of a reason than lack of interest. But the street is on a whole other level. You have to struggle to make your subject different from it's environment. Or let the two merge. That is the case in this picture

Ceci n'est pas une pipe

Ceci n'est pas une pipe, originally uploaded by i am drexel.

Have you ever heard of Magritte's, "la trahison des images" (the treachery of images)? Ceci n'est pas une pipe (this is not a pipe) sounds absurd, but it's actually true, since "ceci" (this) refers to the painting, not the thing represented. Or not? In any case, next time you see picture or a photo, think twice about what you're seeing. It fun and at the same time, of the utmost importance

Last days at Arsakeion

I forgot to tell you that I had an exhibition, didn't I?
It was a team exhibition we organised with the photographic team of the university. I had lots of fun there. And yesterday was the last day. So I decided to have a photo shoot there. On the roof of the old building of Arsakeion school.

That's what the scenery looked like... all those old smelly apartment buildings...I love them

Nostalgic

It's a complicated feeling. It surely involves the past, whether yesterday or ten years ago, whether it's your past or someone elses. But when I see pictures like this one, I tend to daydream...

The hippies

The third editorial I did in Gastouni

.

(I tried to be really picky here. I showed the most funny I guess)
Btw, some things I haven't mentionned.
The clothes... I can't really tag them by label, or even by owner. We had this huge pile of stuff (and I mean huuuuge) and I just had to make my selection. It was fun and all. I hope you like it as much as I do.

The Not-So-Country Girl

The Greek countryside is a place you'd rather see in the holidays. I know, nature is fun but I can't stand it for more than a few days.
And what's interesting in all this are the people. And their sartorial habits. I mean, the small city where I come in the holidays, Gastouni, has the highest percentage of high heel wearing women than any other place I've ever been to. I've seen those ladies passing through bushes, messing with animals and all that on those high heels. They're my inspiration for this shoot.
