Life after BCN...

And so I'm back from Barcelona. This was an educative trip, even though the education was all but expected. Two things i noticed.

- Big, colourful earplugs are quite the trend. Every hip boy and girl in town was wearing them

- I saw more septums and stretches in 4 days than I'd seen in my entire greek life (other countries don't count). People sure like getting piercings.

And I bought a new portrait lens :)

polaroids coming soon

btw, I'm furious for losing many major fashion events while I was gone. Mhh
oh and: THE NEW INSTANT(POLAROID) FILM IS AVAILABLE!!!THANK YOU, IMPOSSIBLE PROJECT

I can smell spring

This photo should have been posted earlier, cause it's from my trip to Athens, and it's almost been a week since I'm back. But I had some scanner issues.
And now, here it is. I wonder sometimes if I could make good shots with models. Paid ones, I mean. For me, nothing's best than good chemistry between the photographer and the subject. No wonder I use my friends as my models. And sometimes, the person, they scenery, the weather all combine and you do a great shot. This was the case

New orders

(the title makes no sense, really)

Usually, when one of your beloved shops in town closes, you're not happy. Yet this time, I was. Cause, closing down meant selling all it's stock in ridiculous prices. And you know, buying shoes in 1/10 of their original price is quite a thing to be happy about. That's what I did. I went in the shop with all the other pilgrims, took a look at everything and ended up with two pairs of daring shoes. That's not like me. I like my shoes to be high heeled(usually), chic but also minimal and comfortable. And, of course, black. Now, look at this:

I don't know what you think, but ponyskin and platforms aren't really minimal. Or safe. At least when you're talking to me.

Anyway, I brought the daring shoes home. And then, the semi- predictable happened. You know, I have a friend who doesn't wear heels (and even less risky heels) but always tries my new ones on. She did it again, and then we did a little photo shoot.

Top hat, stylists own :p

My new bag

The title is a big lie. Cause a) it's not really new and b) it definitely isn't a bag. Let me introduce you to Polaroid Automatic 100.

A camera made in the 60's and still works fine. Some technical facts:
  • Lens: 114mm f/8.8 3-element glass
  • Shutter: Electronic 10 seconds - 1/1200
  • Has settings for film speeds of 75, 150, 300, and 3000 ASA.
  • Has exposure compensation dial with range of -1/+2 stops ("Lighten/Darken" control).
  • Has metal body and metal shutter/lens housing and tripod socket
This is where 50% of my analog pictures come from (the other 50% come from polaroid Spectra 1200FF, using classic integral instant film). With Polaroids you'll never ever have full control over the picture : the colours might be different than you thought but frankly, who cares. It's all part of the polaroid charm. One that has me giving a lot of money :P
